Bella Ella Boutique 2020 Empowerment Scholarship Winner

Overcoming adversity is an important part of who we are at Bella Ella Boutique. Alisha Groo, our founder, started Bella Ella as a single mother in an effort to provide a stable living for her small family. The following few years were filled with her fair share of challenges as she navigated the waters as a new mother, business owner, and trying to make ends meet (you can read the full story here). Her inspiring story provides us with the framework for the Bella Ella Boutique 2020 Empowerment Scholarship.

It's our time to give back. In 2020 we will celebrate the accomplishments of women, like Alisha, by awarding a $2,500 scholarship to one who has overcome countless obstacles to work towards her dreams.

We wanted you to tell us your story. Who are you? What challenges have you overcome? How have your challenges empowered you to achieve more? What do you hope to become? How will you education help you to get there? How would this scholarship help you to achieve your dreams?

To apply for the Bella Ella Boutique 2020 Empowerment Scholarship each applicant created a video to answer the questions above. They posted their video to Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube and tagged @bellaellaboutique with the hashtag #BEB2020scholarship.

We had an overwhelming number of submissions to our scholarship this year. As a result, it took us much longer than anticipated to process through every applicant. We spent countless hours reviewing each and every applicant, listening to everyone's story. We appreciate everyone that took the time to apply, and wish we could provide a scholarship to many more individuals. We heard so many inspiring stories of dedicated individuals who have overcome great adversity to get to where they are today. Thank you again to all those that applied.

Selecting the winner was tough! In the end, one applicant stood out to us; Ivy Marie Kellenberger of Newton, New Jersey.

All entrants agree that upon submission, any materials submitted to Bella Ella Boutique in application for this scholarship are done so in accordance with all applicable laws. You also hereby grant Bella Ella Boutique an irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual, and unlimited license to use all materials submitted by you as Bella Ella Boutique sees fit, including but not limited to the use of any video, text, image, or other content to be used on social media, in emails, promotional videos, and other formats not outlined here.

Scholarship applicants must be of legal age in the US, and enrolled in, or planning to enroll in an accredited college or university located in the US. Entire scholarship amount will be awarded through payment of sum to be submitted directly to the accredited college or university designated by the entrant, and be used to pay tuition & fees at the institution designated on your application upon verification of enrollment. Amounts will not be paid directly to the applicant. Failure to enroll in the designated institution, or a satisfactory substitute institution (as approved by Bella Ella Boutique) will result in a cancellation of the scholarship award. If scholarship is cancelled, and at the discretion of Bella Ella Boutique, a secondary winner will be chosen to receive the full amount of scholarship.

Bella Ella Boutique reserves the right to evaluate all candidates based on submissions and choose a scholarship winner as they see fit. Submitting an application for scholarship does not guarantee an applicant will receive a scholarship or award of any kind. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Bella Ella Boutique reserves the right to cancel or revoke a scholarship award at any time, and for any reason. By submitting an application you certify that all information submitted is true and correct, to the best of your knowledge. If an applicant is found to submit information which is untrue or incorrect, illegal, or which disparages the name, image, or likeness of Bella Ella Boutique in any way, application will become void.

By submitting an application you agree to all the terms and conditions herein. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, do not submit an application for the Bella Ella Boutique 2020 Empowerment Scholarship. You also agree to release Bella Ella Boutique, it’s employees, owners, and stakeholders, from any and all liability or harm resulting from your participation in the Bella Ella Boutique scholarship program.

We want this award to be as fair as possible. This scholarship is not available to any employees of Bella Ella Boutique, relatives to employees of Bella Ella Boutique, or anyone found to have undue influence in the process of awarding the scholarship.
