  • Evolution of Dress Styles: 1900s to Now!

    August 10, 2023 2 min read

Hello, lovely fashionistas! Ever wondered if you're rocking a timeless look or if your dress style is a tad outdated? Well, buckle up, because today we're diving deep into the evolution of dress styles! Let’s journey together through the decades and see just how far we’ve come.

(Watch the video on Youtube below)

    1. The Modest Beginnings: Early 1900s

Way back at the start of the 20th century, women dressed mostly with one thing in mind: catching a husband's eye. 🙄 Long, floor-length dresses were the trend, and there was barely any skin in sight. Modesty was the name of the game.

    2. Roaring Twenties: The Knee-Length Revolution

By the time the 1920s rolled around, ladies were ready for change. No more dragging fabrics! Women started opting for knee-length dresses, showing off just a tad more skin and stepping out with a lot more confidence.

    3. Floral Invasion: 1930s & 1940s

Fast forward a bit, and we're in the 30s and 40s! Floral patterns bloomed everywhere. Think lovely flower prints that are still all the rage today. 🌸

    4. Dressing for Ourselves: 1920s and Onwards

With the 20s, something special happened. We ladies began dressing for ourselves, not just for men. Embracing colors, patterns, and yes, even more skin. Fun times with friends and a growing sense of independence influenced our wardrobe choices.

    5. The Mini vs. Maxi Era: 1964

Flash to 1964, and BOOM! Enter mini skirts and mini dresses – cheeky, fun, and liberating. But, for those who loved flowing dresses, maxi dresses also made their grand debut. A time where you could go super long or super short!

    6. Popping with the 80s

Ah, the 80s! An era close to my heart. 💖 Think bright colors and mini dresses with lots of volume (hello, puffy layers!). Dresses that made you want to dance all night.

    7. The 90s Satin Touch

Come the 90s, and the satin mini dress was the star of the show. Reflecting styles from the 30s and 40s but with a fresh, modern touch.

    8. Modern Era: A Mix of Everything

And here we are today! Everything from the past seems to be back in style. We're talking styles from the 90s, the 80s, and even earlier. Today’s fun part? We mix and match! Dresses with sneakers? Heck, yes! Add in some denim, splash on some jewelry, and you're good to go.
