2015: New Year New You

We know you’re ready to feel reborn and 2015 is YOUR year! We also know that you’re a human and unless you’re changing your job, moving to a new city, and completely blocking and unfollowing all of your ex’s from 2014 (which might be the best resolution of the year) it’s hard to stay focused on these life changes. So what to do?? Here are a few tips we have gathered to help you keep, make, and reach those resolutions. Lets make those New Years Resolutions really stick this year!

1. Set attainable goals. It’s easy to get ahead of yourself come Jan 1st. If you’re anything like us you put on an extra 12lbs that you were planning to lose at the New Year. So instead of saying “I am going to lose 30 lbs in January” or “I am going to pay off all $15,678 of by debt by June 1st” Let’s be realistic. Maybe plan to go to the gym 3 days a week to start, even if you just bring along that tablet you got for Christmas and watch an episode of Gilmore Girls while walking on the treadmill at 2.0 incline (that’s my plan). Pay an extra $100 a month on those student loans. Slow and steady wins the race my friends.

2. Write your Resolutions down and put them somewhere you can see them. EVERYDAY. I personally, have put them on my phone background so I can be constantly reminded of my focus. Because let’s be honest, I am constantly glued to my phone (insert need for phone break resolution here). Put them on a post it note on your bathroom mirror, on a note by your computer at work. Whatever it is. Read them everyday for a daily renewal and it sounds lame and cheesy but say them out loud. It will help with daily retention. Now go grab your pens and get to writing!

3. Don’t you give up!! You will fail, you will forget, you will lose focus. You are a human afterall! But that doesn’t mean that mid March you should just kiss your 2015 Resolutions goodbye! Recommit when you lose sight of the end goal! When you’re enjoying the best body of your life you’ll be glad you stuck with it.

Our resolutions include: becoming financially independent paying off school loans and utilizing our savings accounts, working for the best & healthiest bodies of our adult lives, and spending more time cultivating relationships and less time stuck to our phones. What are yours?
