How to pick a wedding guest dress
Weddings are the perfect event to get dressed up and show off your style, but each wedding is a unique celebration. Here are some helpful hints on how to choose a dress for the event.
- An outdoor wedding will typically be a little less formal than an indoor wedding in a church. Dress more comfortable. For a daytime wedding, try a mini dress to keep cool and beautiful. For an evening, or night wedding, go with a longer maxi dress.
- An indoor wedding, especially if held in a church, will be more formal. You might feel out of place in a strapless dress, or one with a low neckline. Keep it classy & formal.
- Talk to someone involved in planning the wedding about how formal the event will be and dress accordingly. Black-tie weddings will usually indicate as such in your invite.
How to choose colors for wedding guest dresses
The color of your dress will be just as important as the style of the dress. The season of the wedding will play a big part, as well as some standard wedding etiquette rules to live by.
Fall and winter weddings are a perfect fit for burgundy, forest green, deep blue, and navy wedding guest dresses
Spring and summer weddings are great for lighter tones, pastels, and brighter hues. Blush, pink, yellow, and muted colors are great for spring wedding guest dresses.
Always pay attention to the wedding colors. You do NOT want to match the color of the bridesmaids dresses
Unless otherwise requested by the bride, always stay away from white tones like white, ivory, and cream dresses.
