  • Bride's Guide to Planning a Wedding in 2021

    February 09, 2021 3 min read

Congratulations! You're engaged and planning the day of your dreams! The only problem? It's 2021, and Covid-19 wants an invitation to the big day.

Here's Bella Ella's Guide to Planning a Wedding amidst a global pandemic.

    1. Consider your priorities.

It's important to make sure getting married this year is important enough to you that you are willing to have a smaller ceremony. Are you willing to take precautions? Invite less guests? Wear masks? If not, maybe postponing your big day is best.

    2. Have an Outdoor Ceremony

Having guests over becomes much easier when doing it outside. Restrictions become looser, and guests have more ability to distance themselves from one another. Place seating arrangements in groups so households can sit together, distanced from others.

    3. Limit Your Guest-list

It's time to decide your priorities when it comes to who you want there to celebrate with you on your big day. In order to have a wedding during a global pandemic, it's important to not invite too many people. Follow your states local guidelines, and take as many precautions as possible. You and your fiancé should work together to decide how many people you are comfortable celebrating with and who you want to invite.

    4. Set Clear Standards with your Guests

Make your invitations clear. If you expect people to wear masks and wash their hands, let them know. If you plan to send announcements to people that are not invited to attend the ceremony, make that clear on the card.

    5. Provide Supplies for your Guests to Stay Safe

If guests are required to wear masks while at your ceremony, provide them. Provide hand washing stations or hand sanitizer throughout the venue.

    7. Consider Live Streaming the Event

We live in such an amazing time where we can be with each other through technology. Consider live streaming your event so at-risk individuals have the opportunity to be apart of your day.

    8. Consider Eloping

Where wedding planning goes, stress follows. Especially during a pandemic. Elopement gives the couple an opportunity to remember what really matters; the love that they share. Invite immediate family and have a small and simple ceremony.

    9. Get Married Now, but Celebrate Later

Don't worry, your guests will understand. This gives everyone an opportunity to have a less stressful, safer celebration.
