Best Meal Subscriptions For Busy Moms

Why Get A Subscription?

As a busy mom, you have so much on your plate and sometimes you don't have time to plan and create a family meal. With all that you have going on it's sometimes hard to find time to meal plan, prep, and go to the grocery store. Sometimes going out to eat is easier but can get expensive quickly. Grocery store trips are a thing of the past when you subscribe to a meal plan. Now that grocery store trips are taken off the list you can focus on more important things. It is also a good way to get your family together and experiment with new food. If you really like the recipe you can keep the instructions and you could recreate it on your own. Now when you get asked "what's for dinner?" you know what to say.

Meal Subscriptions

It is hard to find meal subscriptions that cater to families instead of singles or couples, so we did the work for you and searched through many different meal subscriptions. These meal subscriptions all have a max of 4 people and 5-6 servings per week. If you need more meals then you can either make two accounts or only have these meals on certain days. If you want to skip a week, cancel or change your preferences all of these have that option. These are 4 that we think would work best.

  1. Hello Fresh - Best Overall Meal Subscription Box. On the Better Business Bureau website, all the locations have an A+ rating and on Trustpilot, it has a 4.1-star rating. It is really easy to set up, first you choose your preferences; meat and veggies, veggie, family-friendly, fit & wholesome, quick and easy, and pescatarian. Then, you can select the meals you would like according to your diet. The reviews about Hello Fresh are realitvley positive but there are a few complaints about their customer service and delivery.
  2. Sunbasket - On Trustpilot, it has a 4.6-star rating. The website is really easy to navigate and set up a subscription. You can also choose a meal kit that will be ready in 15-40 minutes, has pre-measured ingredients that are ready to cook, and learn how to cook impressive easy meals. Or you can choose a fresh and ready meal plan which is premade and ready in 4 minutes, stored in the heat-safe tray, and the tray is compostable for easy cleanup. You can mix and match recipes to match your diet and lifestyle. You can also add breakfast or lunch meals and snacks!
  3. Freshly - On the Better Business Bureau, it has a 4.54-star rating and on Trustpilot, it has a 4.9-star rating. These are already prepared meals that you just need to pop in the microwave or oven. Freshly also accommodates plant, gluten-free, dairy-free, carb-smart, and calorie-conscious diets. If you need to make any changes to your subscription do it before the deadline. If you need help with your Freshly subscription they have videos that can help you on their website.
  4.  Blue Apron - On the Better Business Bureau, it has an A+ rating and a 4.2-star rating on Trustpilot. They offer four preferences: chef's favorites, wellness, family-friendly, and fast and easy. They also have an option to get wine delivered to your doorstep. On their website they have a market tab that has other options like pantry items and kitchen utensils. These meals take a little longer time to cook so if you do not have time to cook or prepare this might not be the box for you.

Which option is best for you?

When applying for a meal subscription, make sure you do your research and find plans that best fit your lifestyle. Look for things like what meals they provide, the flexibility they have, how much prep it would take, if they have accomodations for your dietary needs, and how it would fit your schedule. Meal subscriptions are a great way for busy moms to get grocery shopping out of the way and have a good meal for their families.
